Local Bike Artist
Born in 1953 in La Grande Oregon. I am a 4th generation Wallowa County native. Graduating Enterprise High in 1971. Left and returned in 1981, with my family. I worked at Valley Bronze, being the 4th hired, for 18 years. Teaching, tooling, and management. At the same time pursuing my own art, with sculpting wildlife to Harleys, and also painting landscapes. In the year 2000, my wife and I opened our own business, Cross Country Bronze. Starting my riding career with an old Vespa. Dad said, “make it run and it’s yours”. Rode that till my trail 90 Honda. Turning 16, and buying a 650 BSA. Been riding ever since, everything from a Honda to Norton. Got my first Harley in 1996. I traded my motorcycle art for her. A 1995 softail Nostalgia, with only 63 miles on her, now with 60,000. Nothing like getting “In The Wind”…. I had been inspired to create a bronze sculpture “Rode Hard Run Dry” in memory of my Dad and his riding past. This was his old bike, a military “45” Harley in the late 40”s. I would like to make mention and thanks to Dave Mann for a lot of my inspiration for bike art. Famous biker artist, known more for his art in Easy Rider Magazine. A lot of his art lined my garage walls for years. Thank you Dave Mann… Ride Free Forever, Not To Be Forgotten…. My wife Debbie and I have been married for 32 years. Fantastic years at that… 2 great kids, a daughter Alisha, and a son Travis. Now with children as well. They have given us 6 grandkids. We love riding every chance we get. To see all things. Went to Sturgis in the year 2000, quit my job, opened up our shop, been working here ever since. Now it’s time for a Rally!!!!!!!!!! Let’s Ride….. Ride To Live…. Live To Ride…. _________________________
Wood Sculpture By Pine I began my love for wood in my teens, but I didn't develop most of my talent until later in life. I moved my family to Northern Idaho's Silver Valley in the 70's from Sacramento, California and went to work in the mines. After working for many years, I was laid off. With too much time on my hands, I started developing my talent for wood sculpture. What started as a childhood dream and, later, a way to idle away the hours soon developed into a love for my craft and the love I have for God and the outdoors. You can see my art in and around homes and businesses throughout the Silver Valley and the country. I've been featured in the Shoshone New-Press, the Couer d'Alene Press, and many other newspapers. My sculptures have even been displayed in Japan. Life has been a humbling journey, and I'm eternally grateful that I can express its majesty and beauty through my craft.
